I'm writing to report an issue ı'm having with Turkish Airlines regarding the confirmation of my medical alert service dog on my upcoming flights. My reservation code is TQLK8G, and my itinerary is from June 24 to August 12, including the İstanbul–Bogota and Panama–İstanbul segments operated by Turkish Airlines.
I need to travel with my medical alert service dog and, for the other airlines included in this shared Ticket, the reservation for my service dog has already been confirmed without any problem. Turkish Airlines has availability on my flights for a service dog, which was confirmed to me by a Turkish Airlines representative at the Taksim office. However, despite this, ı still have not received any confirmation from Turkish Airlines for my service dog on the İstanbul–Bogota and Panama–İstanbul portions of my Ticket.
Over the past two weeks, since the day ı purchased my Ticket, ı have visited the Turkish Airlines office in Taksim multiple times. The staff there informed me that they sent e‑mail to the main office about my Case, but nothing has been resolved and ı have not received the required confirmation. Instead of approving my medical service dog, Turkish Airlines has denied the reservation and is asking me to pay for my service dog as a pet‑in‑cabin, even though this is a medical alert service dog and not a regular pet.
In the last e‑mail ı received from Turkish Airlines, ı was told that ı'm required to complete a purchase for my service dog as a petc (pet‑in‑cabin) in order for them to review my application. I find it unacceptable that ı'm being asked to pay as if my service dog were a normal pet, and that my application is not even being properly reviewed unless ı agree to this payment.
I kindly request that Turkish Airlines immediately confirm the reservation and availability for my medical alert service dog on the İstanbul–Bogota and Panama–İstanbul segments of my Ticket, without any additional charges, and that this situation be corrected as soon as possible so that ı can travel safely and without uncertainty.
