The circumstances of a flight cancellation determine your compensation eligibility. Turkish Airlines usually does not compensate cancellations caused by extreme weather or security concerns. Force majeure events occur when factors beyond the airline's control compromise flight safety.
In case of Turkish Airlines flight cancellation, passengers have the following rights:
• Turkish Airlines must offer passengers the option to be rebooked on the next flight to their destination.
• If passengers decline rebooking, Turkish Airlines must refund their ticket in full.
• Accommodation: Turkish Airlines must provide overnight accommodations for passengers whose flights are canceled.
• Compensation: Turkish Airlines may compensate passengers depending on the flight cancellation.
Flight distance and delay duration determine compensation. If your flight is canceled and you wait over 3 hours for the next one, you may be eligible for €250.
