I Face Delayed Compensation From Turkish Airlines After Canceled Washington–Istanbul Flight
I was a ticketed passenger on the Washington–Istanbul TK188 flight scheduled for October 5. Our flight was first delayed twice, each time for about three hours, and then it was completely canceled. I experienced significant hardship throughout this process.
After what I went through, I escalated the issue to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and was granted compensation under file number 2025-00012555. However, Turkish Airlines has not paid this compensation for two months. I have contacted them repeatedly—no exaggeration, at least 20 times—and each time I felt dismissed and strung along. Despite all my calls and messages, no actual payment has been made.
I am requesting that the compensation I am entitled to be paid to me immediately, without further delay, and with interest if necessary.
