Opel Frontera Water Leak Problem in Rear Doors
Shortly after purchasing my brand-new 2026 Opel Frontera on July 29, 2026, I discovered what appears to be a serious manufacturing and sealing defect. Water is visibly leaking into the vehicle's cabin through the inner seals and interior trim of both the right and left rear doors. This problem is particularly noticeable during rainy weather, when water enters the interior through the doors and significantly affects the vehicle's usability. It is extremely disappointing to experience such a fundamental sealing problem in a brand-new vehicle, especially when water leaks into the cabin on rainy days. The wet interior upholstery creates a risk of corrosion and poses a serious potential threat to the vehicle's electronic components. This issue clearly compromises the vehicle's new-car condition and expected quality and constitutes a latent defect.
I purchased the vehicle from the authorized Çetaş dealership in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul. Despite reporting the issue to both the dealership and the manufacturer, no permanent solution has been provided to date. During the service process, no definitive repair, part replacement, technical explanation, or corrective action that would completely resolve the problem has been offered. As a result, I continue to suffer from this unresolved issue. I have also attached photographs and videos to my complaint that clearly demonstrate the water leakage.
Under Turkey's Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, this issue qualifies as a defective product. I request that the necessary official inspections and assessments be carried out immediately and that appropriate action be taken to resolve my complaint. If necessary, I expect the vehicle to be replaced with an equivalent brand-new vehicle or my other statutory consumer rights to be fully honored. I expect Opel Turkey to intervene immediately, address this recurring issue that is causing significant inconvenience to customers, and provide a permanent solution.
