Turkish Airlines Denied Boarding to Flight - Valid Visa Ignored
On September 17, 2025, at 19:40, I was scheduled to fly from Istanbul Airport to São Paulo on Turkish Airlines flight TK0215. Despite holding a valid visa and passport for Brazil, I was denied boarding without any official explanation. At both the check-in counter and the boarding gate, I was not provided with any written document or justification for the denial. I raised an objection with the staff at the time of the incident, but my complaint was ignored. I also contacted Turkish Airlines customer service, but I was merely told that I would be contacted later, which never happened. As a result of this incident, I received only a ₺1,500 refund from my ticket cost of ₺51,600, with the remainder left unpaid. Additionally, my hotel reservation and connecting flights were canceled, causing me to suffer significant financial and emotional distress. I have obtained an official letter from the Consulate of Brazil, confirming that my visa and passport were valid and that there was no restriction preventing my entry into the country. Therefore, my denied boarding was solely due to Turkish Airlines’ wrongful actions. In light of this, I formally request: A full refund of my ticket; Compensation as stipulated under civil aviation regulations; Remediation for the damages and inconvenience I have suffered; And that necessary measures be taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
