If, despite having taken out comprehensive insurance with Booking.com, charges are made for damage to a rim, the following steps should be taken in the third form and as a general recommendation:
- Documenting the damage: the damage should be recorded by photographs or videos, and all written communications with Booking.com or the insurance company should be carefully kept.
- Contact Booking.com customer service: In the first instance, Booking.com customer service should be contacted and the problem described in detail. An acceptable solution should be sought together.
- Request for compensation: The compensation claim should be presented concerning consumer rights and the purchase of comprehensive insurance.
- Contacting the insurance company: If no satisfactory solution is found with Booking.com, the insurance company with which the comprehensive insurance was taken out should be contacted. This should be informed of the charges for the rim damage and it should be clarified whether there is a right to compensation and how this can be claimed.
