During our trip to Italy, we encountered several incidents that resulted in unexpected expenses, despite having purchased full insurance coverage before our trip. However, even after repeatedly informing the company, they still charged us for damages and have not provided any support or assistance.
We rented our car through Booking.com, and on January 25 in Rome, thieves broke the car’s window and stole our belongings. As a result, we were charged €152.51. Later, a minor scratch on the front left bumper led to another €245 charge, which is far beyond a reasonable repair cost. In total, we were charged €397.51 by Locautorent.
Despite multiple emails and providing all requested documents, we were promised a response by February 12, but after 21 days, we have heard nothing. Booking.com and RentalCover.com, a well-known partner, have completely ignored our case. No one is responding to emails, and there is no direct contact person to assist us.
We booked with full protection coverage, and as Genius Level 3 members, we expected better service. This lack of support has caused significant financial and emotional distress. We demand an immediate update on our case and a full refund for the charges we should not have been responsible for.
