On June 4, 2025, I rented a car through Booking.com from Budget Rent a Car at Dubai International Airport. At the time of pickup, 2,550 AED was charged to my credit card as a deposit, and I was clearly told it would be refunded within two weeks after returning the vehicle.
I returned the car in proper condition on June 7, but as of July 16 — over 45 days later — I still haven’t received my deposit back. I’ve sent multiple emails to both Budget and Booking.com, but neither has offered a solution or even a timeline. The lack of accountability and communication is truly unacceptable.
How can such a large international company not process a basic deposit refund after so long? It’s outrageous to expect customers to wait indefinitely for their own money, especially when the terms clearly state a two-week return period.
I demand that my ₺ equivalent of the 2,550 AED deposit be refunded immediately. Booking.com and Budget should not be allowed to hold on to customer funds this long without any explanation. This is not just poor service — it’s completely unethical.
