My Dyson Gen5 vacuum stops working whenever it comes into contact with a carpet. Up until now, I’ve been able to vacuum all my rugs without any problems, but for the past 24 hours, it hasn’t worked on any carpet. It runs briefly on hard floors, but as soon as I move to a carpeted surface, the device completely shuts off.
Previously, I had contacted customer service because there were dents inside the device. I was told it had “suffered an impact,” but no explanation was provided as to how internal parts could have been damaged. Now, I can’t reach customer service in the evenings, and since I work on weekdays, it’s difficult for me to call during business hours. I also sent a photo of the serial number via WhatsApp, but I haven’t received any response.
The product was purchased under the serial number Z5S-EU-SFD0247A. I’m trying to confirm whether it’s still under warranty.
I expect my vacuum to function properly again — and if necessary, I request either a product replacement or a free repair. I kindly ask that this issue be resolved as soon as possible.
