My 2024 Mini Countryman U25 electric vehicle (license plate: 34 *** 252) is still under warranty. In an informational email sent to customers as part of Borusan Oto İstanbul’s winter tire campaign, the service center stated that “if you use tires without the * or MO marking, any tire-related issue will not be covered under warranty.”
However, I could not find this requirement explicitly stated in the vehicle’s warranty booklet or on Mini Türkiye’s official website. Even though I plan to use winter tires that are fully equivalent to the original ones (same size, load index, and speed rating), imposing such a warranty limitation in this manner seems unfair and arbitrary toward the consumer.
I request that these service practices and communications be reviewed, that consumer rights be protected, and that the necessary oversight be carried out.
