I am writing regarding two unauthorized charges made through Booking.com to my card in connection with a hotel reservation in Istanbul, Turkey. I had originally booked a hotel in Istanbul via Booking.com for approximately 900 Canadian dollars with free cancellation, and I cancelled this reservation in accordance with the free cancellation conditions shown on the site. Despite this, on January 2nd, my card was charged twice, in the amounts of 1,517.66 and 541.57, which do not correspond to the original booking amount or to any information that was provided to me at the time of booking or cancellation. These charges appeared without any prior notification or explanation, and I did not authorize any additional payments beyond the original reservation, which was cancelled under free cancellation. I live in Canada, and I have not been able to find a valid phone number to reach Booking.com from here, so I have not been able to resolve this issue directly by phone. I am requesting that both of these incorrect charges, 1,517.66 and 541.57, be fully refunded to my card and that I receive a clear written explanation of why these amounts were taken despite a free cancellation booking. I ask that this matter be investigated urgently and that the refund be processed as soon as possible, as these unrecognized transactions have caused me serious concern and financial inconvenience.
