I made a reservation through Booking.com on February 22 for the property “Serenty-2BR- le Louvre @Saint Germain” in Paris for March 16–19, with confirmation number 5807****51 and PIN code 3815. On the same day, the payments for my other reservations made with the same Visa card were successfully charged, but no payment has been charged for this property yet.
Despite this, the property asked me to make the payment through a link they sent directly to me. I clearly stated that I do not find this link secure and that I only want to make the payment through Booking.com, but they continue insisting that I pay through this external link.
The property also stated that if I cancel my stay in March, I will be charged a €550 penalty, even though no payment has been processed through Booking.com and I am not being given the option to cancel without penalty. In short, although my reservation is confirmed and guaranteed by my credit card in the system, the property is pressuring me to pay through a link I do not trust, while threatening a large cancellation penalty if I refuse.
During this process, I have corresponded multiple times with both the property and Booking.com customer service, but no solution has been provided. I request that Booking.com securely charge the payment from my registered credit card and finalize my reservation properly, or cancel the reservation immediately with no penalty if this cannot be done.
