Turkish Airlines enforces specific rules regarding items permitted and prohibited on flights. Here's a quick rundown of the prohibited and restricted items:
Items Permitted (Cabin Baggage): You may bring hair spray, perfumes, and medicines containing alcohol (up to 100 ml in the cabin). Sprays that are non-toxic and non-flammable for use at home or in sports are permitted. A single packet of safety matches or a specific lighter, as well as certain portable electronic devices, are permitted. Alcoholic beverages (up to 5 liters at 70% maximum per passenger) and sharp objects (up to 2 items) are permitted. Various portable devices and non-leak batteries are permitted, including energy-saving lightbulbs and medical equipment.
Items Allowed in Cabin Baggage: Thermometers, mercury barometers, clinical thermometers, first aid kits, and dry ice (up to 2.5 kg) are permitted in cabin baggage. Camping stoves with flammable liquid fuel (emptied and dried 6 hours before) and insulated packages containing refrigerated liquid nitrogen are also permitted.
Toy guns, certain wheelchairs, radioactive material equipment, arms, ammunition (up to 5 kg for personal use), and cues for sports like pool or billiards (in the cargo compartment) are all prohibited items for checked baggage.
Remember that these regulations are subject to change, so check with Turkish Airlines for the most recent updates and any additional requirements.
