Turkish Airlines Made Its Passengers Take Care of Luggage Transport at Layovers
On December 12, 2023, I purchased a ticket from Turkish Airlines to travel from Istanbul to Toronto. My wife, myself, and our cat will be traveling. The ticket includes Turkish Airlines from Istanbul to Rome and then Air Canada from Rome to Toronto. However, I was informed that we have to pick up our luggage in Rome and personally deliver it to Air Canada, with a layover of only 3 hours. This means dealing with check-in, luggage, and our cat's well-being simultaneously. It seems like you want us to teleport with our luggage from one place to another. This system is absurd, especially considering that it's all under the same company! With so many available flights and direct options, we choose Turkish Airlines, and the service should reflect that. I strongly disagree with this arrangement. Baggage transfer should be your responsibility, and I expect a response on this matter. Additionally, I am trying to purchase a ticket for my cat, but the customer service representatives insist that I need to go to Istanbul Airport to complete the purchase. I have spoken to approximately 10 customer service agents, and none of them seem to have any information. The treatment I receive when calling the Turkish Airlines customer service line is consistently unhelpful, with responses like "we can't do anything." Do I have to go through this much trouble just because I bought a ticket from you? Enough is enough!
