Incorrect Information Provided by Turkish Airlines Staff About Traveling with Pet
I called THY's call center before my flight to inform them that I would be traveling with my pet in a hard plastic carrier. The representative told me that as long as the carrier met the size requirements, it would be allowed on the flight. However, when I went to the counter at the airport, the staff there informed me that hard plastic carriers were not permitted and that I needed a soft carrier instead. I had to purchase the specified carrier for ₺1,500. What would I have done if I didn't have the money? I filed a complaint, and they reviewed the call recordings, confirming that I was given incorrect information and that the staff would be warned. However, they did nothing to address the inconvenience I experienced. They made various excuses to close the case and blamed me for the situation. If necessary, I will take this matter to the Consumer Court and will also mention in court that they took no action despite acknowledging the issue.
