On April 25, I made a hotel reservation in Prague through Agoda for 1 room, 2 people. I received confirmation from both my bank and Agoda—everything seemed fine. But when I checked the Agoda app, I noticed that two separate bookings were created: ID532809007 and ID532809703—even though I had only made one reservation.
Shortly after, I received emails stating that both reservations were not confirmed, and the app marked them as canceled. So, I booked again at the same hotel for 2 people, only to find once more that two separate bookings were created: ID532827 and ID532823. Again—double bookings for a single request.
When we arrived at the hotel, they confirmed only one reservation—ID2184247474—and said the second one, ID21841655499, was not valid. However, I was still charged for both. The hotel told me to contact Agoda to resolve the issue. I emailed dozens of times, but Agoda claimed they couldn’t reach the hotel. When I emailed the hotel directly, they passed the responsibility back to Agoda.
This is a system glitch, and yet I’m the one left paying for a room I never stayed in. I did nothing wrong and followed all proper steps. Agoda’s platform error should not cost me money. I am now being ignored and bounced between the hotel and Agoda, while the issue remains unresolved.
I demand that Agoda refund the full amount for the duplicate, unused booking immediately. If this is not resolved, I will file formal complaints with every consumer protection authority available.
