Agoda Booking Error, Overcharged for Incorrect Room Type in Verona
Under the booking number 920293772, I made a hotel reservation in Verona, Italy, through Agoda for the period from September 6 to 10. Although the payment was supposed to be later, they immediately deducted 521 euros from my credit card. I was traveling alone and had booked a single room, but apparently, the computer system automatically booked a double room for two people and calculated the price accordingly. When I noticed this mistake, I contacted Agoda but only received automated responses from an AI system, and real communication did not occur.
Therefore, I contacted the hotel directly. The hotel told me to contact Agoda. However, the hotel also charged an additional 10 euros in tourist tax, and the room rates were about 70 euros more for 2 nights than the price stated on the website for 2 nights. As a consumer, we feel genuinely disadvantaged here. Who will resolve this matter? I do not want to make any further reservations and demand a refund
