On January 5, 2023, I purchased flight tickets from Istanbul to Vienna on March 9, 2023, and from Milan to Istanbul on March 16, 2023, with a cancellation guarantee through the mytrip.com website. Due to the cancellation of my trip, I sought a refund for the tickets. However, the customer service representative at mytrip.com informed me during the conversation that they could refund 90% of the ticket price as a voucher, valid for one year.
He also mentioned that I had no right to cancellation, as I had agreed to these conditions when purchasing the tickets. Even standard offers from airlines usually have a 14-day withdrawal period, while now, due to the additional fee for the cancellation guarantee of 900 Lira, I cannot get my money back. I have also forwarded the issue to Turkish Airlines, but they cannot assist me and directed me to contact the booked travel agency.
Upon my research, I found numerous complaints about this website, with people not receiving their funds and their complaints left unresolved. It is a sum of 6,200.00 TL for a trip I will not undertake. Clearly, there is misleading conduct, and there is no resolution within the country. I will do everything in my power to achieve the closure of the mytrip.com Turkey office and ensure that this absurd situation is known in all affected countries. No one deserves to lose money unfairly, and I will not allow you to keep my money.
