Turkish Airlines Cancels Flight Last Minute
A week ago, we purchased tickets from Turkish Airlines but received a message 1.5 days before departure stating that our flight had been "canceled due to force majeure. You are entitled to a free exchange or refund." When I contacted customer service, they claimed they couldn't access any information. I reminded them that, according to the Right to Information Act, they were obliged to share this information with me. The representative simply responded with "it was canceled due to operational changes." I asked what those operational changes were, but received no answer. They seem to be canceling flights at their discretion, selling extra tickets for a flight, and then canceling those of passengers who didn't check in. I had planned my annual leave, and it was ruined because of Turkish Airlines. If I don't show up for my flight, they won't refund me, claiming it's my fault. But when it's Turkish Airlines' fault, why isn't there any accountability? Is it so easy for them to cancel flights without giving proper reasons? It's truly disappointing.
