Hotels.com Customer Service Denies My Invoice Request

I stayed at a hotel in Antalya Lara from October 13-15 for a business trip, booked a month prior on hotels.com. However, I noticed later that hotels.com issued a receipt in my name instead of an invoice required for my expenses. The hotel stated they couldn't provide a separate invoice as they had already invoiced hotels.com.

Contacting 15 different customer representatives at hotels.com for an invoice proved fruitless. Despite assurances, they keep emailing instructions on how to print the receipt from the site. I've been struggling for 15 days, reiterating my need for an invoice, but all I get are vague responses or instructions to print the receipt from the site.

I want an invoice, not a receipt. Despite explaining the validity of invoices in Turkey and the necessity of an official document, I haven't been able to obtain one, even though they have all the required company information.

This situation is extremely frustrating. I regret choosing hotels.com for its apparent affordability. I can't find a Turkish contact to address the issue, leaving me to cover the hotel expenses myself.

My hotel and workplace confirm hotels.com's obligation to issue an invoice, but I've encountered clueless, inexperienced staff who seemingly don't understand Turkish. I've been requesting a simple invoice for 15 days with no success. I've asked them to call me, but there's no response.

Their inexperienced personnel, lack of knowledge about invoicing, and constant rejection of my request are unacceptable. If you don't know how to issue invoices, don't do business. What will happen to my grievance? My workplace demands an invoice, and all I have is a receipt, which is worthless in Turkey. Your staff lacks basic knowledge about the difference between an invoice and a receipt. If you don't know, don't handle this business.

I made a reservation on Hotels.com for my business trip. But they issued a receipt in my name, not an invoice. Customer service says they can't issue an invoice because they don't have a branch in Turkey. If you are not going to provide an invoice, why are you doing business with our country? Why do you keep sending me the receipt available on your site? Why do you email saying we can't provide details about the receipt? I want an e-invoice/invoice from you. You insist on the receipt. I know where the receipt can be printed from your site. I want an invoice! You say, "Okay, we will issue an invoice," you take my company details, you say you have an invoicing department, but the emails I receive are mocking, You can print your receipt from the internet Or you email saying we can't provide more receipt details.

Is it that hard to issue an invoice? If you are doing business with Turkey, you are obligated to issue an invoice! Your receipt is not valid in Turkey, it is not an official document! It cannot be verified because of this! Why are you making things difficult for people? Do you not have any representatives in Turkey, any Turkish staff who understand invoices? If you are working with Turkey, you should know the regulations! Issuing an invoice is not difficult because you have an office in Istanbul and you are obligated to issue an invoice. And my hotel also issued an invoice to you. So it means you can do invoiced transactions. Why are you making things difficult for us? I have been trying for 15 days to get an invoice! And you don’t even say the reason why I can’t get it. You don’t say we can’t issue an invoice, you just stall people. This is very frustrating! You should resolve my issue. You should issue an invoice. If it cannot be issued, you should have said this from the beginning!

I had requested an e-invoice, but they issued the invoice manually. In A4 format, with plain text...! Entry and exit times, my first and last name, the amount I paid... I could have written this on an A4 myself, and even better! Is this the solution? They wrote it like a petition on a plain piece of paper... You did not meet my expectations at all, this is absurd!
