Hotels.com Charged Me but Refused to Provide an Invoice for My Business Trip
I booked a hotel for a business trip through Hotels.com and selected the “pay now” option. Upon checking out, I requested an invoice from the hotel, but they informed me that since the payment was processed through Hotels.com (Expedia), they couldn’t provide an invoice—only Hotels.com could. I emailed Hotels.com, but even after five days, I didn’t receive a response. When I contacted their Turkish call center, I was told they could only issue a receipt, which doesn’t include any company references and is insufficient for submitting to my company for reimbursement. As a result, I paid upfront (instead of paying at the hotel), Expedia received the payment, yet I wasn’t provided with an invoice to claim my expenses. Moving forward, I will never book a hotel through Hotels.com or choose the pay-in-advance option again.
