Turkish Airlines' Overbooking Delayed My Flight and I Had Poor Service
I couldn't board the plane due to overbooking of flight tickets. I was told I could board as a standby passenger if someone didn't show up or was late. My flight on April 6th at 18:10 was rescheduled to April 7th at 06:35 because the next flight was also full. Compensation was promised, along with accommodation in a 5-star hotel including meals. Before making the hotel reservation, I requested my luggage as it contained my belongings. I was persuaded for a long time that my luggage could be easily transferred to the next flight, and eventually, I lost another 20 minutes at the baggage services. Afterward, the hotel reservation was made, and I waited another 20 minutes for the shuttle. However, the hotel turned out to be 3-star. When I went down for dinner, I learned that only a chicken menu was available with no other alternatives, and I don't eat chicken. I didn't know whether to feel sorry for my family waiting for me before the holiday or for the time I lost. I filed a complaint, and a response is expected within 7 business days. I checked out of the hotel. I wish I hadn't trusted Turkish Airlines services from the start. I am dissatisfied with the service provided.
