Turkish Airlines Flight Delay and Baggage Mishandling on Balkan Tour
On a Balkan tour package for 40 people purchased from Jolly, 35 passengers had their luggage transferred to Adana on flight TK1084 from Belgrade to Istanbul at 20:20. While waiting in the check-in lounge, the flight arrived three hours late. Upon arrival in Istanbul, we contacted THY staff to explain the delay in Belgrade. However, the staff stated that our flight was not visible in their system and that our ticket purchase was not in accordance with the procedure. They could not hold the delayed flight in Istanbul for half an hour and informed us that the next available flight was the following evening, which we would have to purchase. This left 35 people stranded at the airport. We had to wait at the airport until 5 AM and received our damaged luggage. We then had to rent a vehicle and travel to Adana by bus. THY is responsible for the inconvenience we experienced. We request compensation for our troubles.
