I was supposed to return from Belgrade to Istanbul on August 25, 2023, with flight TK1084 at 20:20, as part of a travel package purchased from Jolly Tur. However, the flight was delayed by 2 hours. Since I had a connecting flight to Adana, I sought information about it, but the staff in Belgrade did not allow me to speak with the desk officer regarding the transfer ticket.
The flight eventually took off at 22:50, causing a delay of two and a half hours, plus an additional one-hour time difference.
We missed the connecting flight to Adana as the gates were closed.
When we spoke to THY support staff, they said the ticket was not registered as a transfer, although our luggage was.
THY's proposed solution was to purchase a new ticket, offering no other alternatives. The group of 35 people, with 30 affected, faced significant inconvenience.
Our luggage was lost, and we spent hours at Istanbul airport trying to locate it. Eventually, we had to rent a private vehicle for ₺45,000, leading to a substantial financial burden and, more importantly, a significant loss of time.
The cause of this situation is the lack of communication and coordination within THY.
All round-trip reservations were made months in advance, and there were no issues during check-in on either leg of the journey. However, due to an unexplained delay by THY, 35 people were affected.
I request THY to address this issue and seek your assistance in resolving it.
