Turkish Airlines Denied My Dog Boarding and Canceled My Return Flight Without Notice
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and frustration with the service provided by Turkish Airlines during my recent travel from Prague to Istanbul on August 23rd. The level of incompetence, misinformation, and unprofessionalism displayed by your staff was nothing short of appalling. I was scheduled to fly with my dog, Riley, on the 9:20 AM flight. Prior to this, on August 20th, I called Turkish Airlines’ call center three times to confirm that all of our documents were in order and that there would be no issues with our travel. Each time, I was assured that everything was fine. However, upon arriving at the airport, the check-in agent informed me that my dog’s vet visit needed to be within 48 hours of the flight. This information was never conveyed to me by your call center. Despite my documents being valid and the vet visit being within the required timeframe, the agent, after speaking in Czech with a colleague about whether or not to let me board, decided not to allow me on the flight. This unprofessional and arbitrary decision caused me to miss my flight, forcing me to purchase a new ticket , again via THY, for the same evening at my own expense after another vet visit. Adding insult to injury, I discovered two days ago that my return ticket for September 4th had been canceled without any notification. This cancellation was due to my “no-show” on the original outbound flight, despite the fact that I was denied boarding because of the incompetence of your staff. I have repeatedly tried to resolve this issue, but each time I am told that nothing can be done. Despite opening multiple feedback cases, nothing has been resolved by Turkish Airlines. The lack of response and accountability is utterly unacceptable. I am now left with no return flight, and my trust in Turkish Airlines has been completely shattered. I demand immediate rectification of this situation, including the reactivation or refund of my return ticket. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will be forced to take legal action and will make it my mission to share my experience on every platform available to warn others about the disgraceful service of Turkish Airlines.
