Turkish Airlines Delayed My Flight and I Had to Purchase a New Ticket

For the Izmir to Istanbul flight at 13:55 for the Galatasaray Manchester match, our flight was delayed by 1 hour just 1 hour before departure. I missed the pre-match event in Istanbul. My return ticket was for 16:00 on November 30th. Despite being at the airport at 15:20, the staff in red t-shirts, who appeared to be around 18 years old, sent me from one place to another for check-in. Finally, at 15:30, a female staff member said it was impossible to check in and directed me to the supervisors, who also did not help and directed me to ticket sales. There were no announcements, messages, or calls. If we had received a warning while walking from the metro at 15:10, we would have acted accordingly. There were no announcements, calls, or notifications at the new airport. Anyway, the ticket sales staff sold us a new ticket for the 18:00 flight TK2334 in the economy class for ₺2100 without making any changes to our original ticket. Despite THY notifying us via message and email about the delay, they did not allow us to board the flight even though we arrived 40 minutes before departure. Additionally, selling a new ticket instead of making changes to the original one is not appropriate for a company of this size. I request a refund of the related amount. Cihan A*** 0555*****33
