Issues with Turkish Airlines Flight Booking and Cancellation
1. My Complaint: I booked a flight ticket with THY for November 11, 2023, on flight TK2015 from ASR to IST (new airport). I bought tickets for my wife, who is a teacher, and my two children. I marked the ticket as part of the teacher campaign. Initially, the ticket prices appeared discounted, but when I proceeded to the payment step, the prices were applied without the discount. I encountered this issue 2-3 times during the payment step. THY customer service said, 'Your wife has two last names, and the children have one last name, so the system does not accept it.' I did not understand this. In such cases, should I not write one of the last names as it appears on the ID? 2. My Complaint: The flight scheduled to depart on November 11, 2023, between 18:25-20:05 was delayed twice. After waiting for about two hours, the flight was canceled. When I asked THY staff about the reason for the delay, I received various explanations such as 'There was a technical fault in the plane,' 'There were adverse weather conditions,' and 'All flights were canceled by the state due to the high number of planes in Istanbul airspace.' We rescheduled our tickets for the next day at 04:25, and it was delayed by another 15 minutes. Due to the inconveniences experienced, I am requesting a refund of my flight fare.
