Turkish Airlines Changed My Paid Seat Arbitrarily
On March 20, 2024, I purchased tickets for my wife and child for the April 14, 2024, 19:35 Istanbul to Diyarbakır flight with reservation number 2352221877851 from the THY website. I paid an extra ₺150 for seat selection during booking, selecting seats 8A for my child and 8B for my wife. Today, when I tried to check in, I discovered that my wife was assigned seat 11E and my child was assigned seat 10B. Not only were the seats I paid extra for changed, but my 6-year-old child was also separated from their mother. I spoke with Ms. Ş***** from THY customer service today around 08:35, who rudely informed me that THY can change seats purchased later and that there would be no refund, but they could assign my wife and child to available seats. I requested that my child be seated in 11D next to their mother since the system had automatically assigned seat 11E to her, but Ms. Ş***** transferred my wife and child's seats from row 8 to row 29. Ms. Ş***** lacks empathy and customer service skills. Turkish Airlines should be more careful in selecting its customer representatives. I am also filing a formal complaint against her. I expect a refund for the seats I purchased and an apology for the inconvenience caused to my wife and child by THY's mishandling.
It's been 2 days and no one has responded. Where is the old Turkish Airlines quality? Shame on you, there's no such thing as customer satisfaction anymore. From now on, I will be flying with other companies.
