I purchased a ticket from Turkish Airlines and paid ₺150 for an additional 3 kg baggage allowance. My flight was canceled due to runway maintenance at the airport. I was informed by Turkish Airlines and learned that I had the right to change my flight. I changed my ticket to a different date via the Turkish Airlines website, keeping my 3 kg baggage allowance intact without any modifications. However, when I arrived at the airport, I was treated as if I hadn't paid for the 3 kg allowance and had to pay an additional ₺550. Believing that the extra 3 kg I paid for should be honored and confident that I could provide proof of this payment, I paid the additional amount. I paid ₺150 for this service to Turkish Airlines and did not receive it. Moreover, I was forced to pay an extra ₺550. To make matters worse, I was scolded over the phone by a customer service representative named Ms. H***. I chose Turkish Airlines to avoid such problems, paying the price difference compared to other airlines for this reason. I was left in a difficult situation, paying extra money due to Ms. H***'s harsh tone, which I had never even heard from my father. If purchasing extra baggage allowance at the airport is more profitable for you, then don't ask 'Would you like extra baggage allowance?' when selling tickets. I spent two hours on the phone over the weekend trying to explain my issue to seek my rights. I demand a refund of the unjustly charged ₺550. If the country's largest company behaves this way, woe to us.
