Turkish Airlines Extra Baggage Fee Charged Unnecessarily
I paid an extra baggage fee to Turkish Airlines. Returning from Los Angeles, I mistakenly thought I was allowed only one piece of luggage, so I purchased an additional baggage allowance. However, I later found out that I was entitled to two pieces of luggage plus a carry-on. The lady at the ticket counter informed me that I already had the baggage allowance and that I could request a refund for the fee I paid. I agreed and filled out the feedback form. However, in their response, they claimed that I had used my allowance. I find this hard to understand, as I travel internationally 5-6 times a year and 7-8 times within the country. This situation is not befitting of the company. It felt like they were chasing after ₺5,000. Although it's not a significant financial loss for me, I am disturbed by the principle and will not choose them again. From now on, I will prefer Emirates. Recently, I have noticed a decline in Turkish Airlines' service quality; issues like old planes, loose seat tracks, and malfunctioning baggage compartments are common. During my travels, I observed that the flight attendants were struggling to take care of passengers. Turkish passengers are being disadvantaged due to the demands of foreign passengers. There are numerous problems. On my outbound flight, a flight attendant tried to force me to change my seat and told me that as an adult, I should comply. Why should I change the seat I purchased just to make a foreign passenger happy? These experiences were the last straw for me.
