Issue with Baggage Transfer on Turkish Airlines Flight
On 12.12.2023, I purchased a ticket from Turkish Airlines to travel from Istanbul to Toronto. My spouse, our cat, and I are traveling. The ticket includes a flight from Istanbul to Rome with Turkish Airlines and then from Rome to Toronto with Air Canada. However, I was informed that we have to collect our baggage in Rome and recheck it with Air Canada. With only a 3-hour layover, how are we supposed to manage check-in, baggage, and our cat's well-being? Carrying our bags around the airport is unreasonable. This system is inefficient. We chose Turkish Airlines despite many direct flight options. This should not be the outcome. I expect Turkish Airlines to handle the baggage transfer and await a response. Additionally, I am trying to buy a ticket for my cat. When I contact customer service, I am told I have a reservation but need to purchase the ticket at Istanbul Airport. I have spoken to around 10 customer service representatives, none of whom have sufficient information. One says, 'If you don't pay within an hour, the reservation will be canceled,' but when I try to pay, they say, 'There's an issue with your card.' When I call back, another says, 'It's not a card issue; it's a system problem, my colleague was mistaken.' Every time I contact Turkish Airlines customer service, the response is, 'We can't do anything.' Do I have to go through all this trouble just because I bought a ticket from you? Enough is enough!
