Turkish Airlines Pet Transport Policy Issue
On February 26, 2024, I had a connecting flight from Antalya to Ankara and then to Kahramanmaraş. I bought a ticket for my cat a few days in advance, and the customer service representative on the phone confirmed that the carrier was suitable and the dimensions were acceptable. However, during the check-in process, they informed me that only soft carriers were accepted and that this carrier would not be allowed.
The website stated that as long as the dimensions were appropriate, either hard or soft carriers would be acceptable. My cat was not accepted at the last minute. Thankfully, there was a market at the airport where I bought a soft carrier. However, the carrier I purchased was more expensive than the plane ticket.
I am complaining about the lack of clear explanations and the rude and indifferent attitude of the lady handling the process. A large company like Turkish Airlines should clearly explain these rules on their website to prevent others from experiencing the same issue. After all, there is a possibility that a suitable carrier might not be available. To prevent people from facing such issues, I request that the rules stated on your website be explicitly followed.
