On November 19, 2023, at 02:40 AM, I booked my seat with reservation code VJ3HBC for the Cologne Sabiha Gokcen Istanbul flight. At the check-in counter, a gray-haired, bearded male staff member, who refused to give his name, behaved extremely rudely and showed unpleasant attitudes towards my friend and me. Despite warning him, he persisted in his behavior. I had already paid 57€ to check in my overweight suitcase. We were two people with two cabin bags, but at gate D30, the same staff member and a short, dark-haired female staff member (who was also at the check-in counter) told us that we could not take our two cabin bags into the cabin. Despite the bags being light and small, they said we could only take them into the cabin if we paid 75€ per piece, totaling 150€. This happened at 03:00 AM on November 19. Being very tired and with only a few people left to board, I did not want to prolong the argument. I asked for a document to justify the 75€ charge per piece, totaling 150€. They said they would provide information via email. When I asked for their names, they refused and only mentioned they were THY staff. I want to ask: Why do I need to pay a total of 150€ for cabin baggage? There is no invoice or written explanation for this charge. Are your staff taking advantage of passengers' fatigue late at night to impose arbitrary charges? As someone who has flown with THY hundreds of times, I have never encountered such disrespectful treatment or arbitrary practices anywhere in the world.
