Turkish Airlines Flight Cancellation from Cologne and Resulting Inconvenience

On 11.04.2024, I had a flight from Cologne to Sabiha Gokcen at 12:05 PM, purchased through THY. When the time came for the flight, the ticket checker informed us that the flight was delayed due to technical reasons and that the next update would be at 3:00 PM. However, no staff came, no updates were provided, and despite hours of waiting, no drinks were offered. We were stranded in the international area for hours. During the wait, we saw the plane being pulled away from the gate and the crew leaving the aircraft. No officials came to inform us, and we couldn't reach any authority. Around 4:00 PM, police and airport staff arrived, instructing us to re-enter the country, collect our luggage, and contact the airline. Upon re-entering, there was no information about the location of our luggage. Ajet staff were not present; a fellow passenger found the luggage location and informed others. Our luggage was haphazardly thrown in a compartment we couldn't even name. We retrieved our luggage on our own. We then went to the office of the company we thought handled Ajet's operations in Cologne. There was only one staff member who was writing names on an A4 paper to put people on flights with unknown times and availability. Since we needed to be in Istanbul by morning, we had to buy tickets from another airline at exorbitant prices and arrived in Istanbul at 11 PM. We explained the situation to Ajet, but they claimed the flight had been completed. After insisting that the flight did not occur, the counter staff made phone calls and confirmed the flight was canceled, stating we could get a refund. When they tried to process the refund, the system showed the flight as completed, so we were told we would receive a partial refund and that we should resolve the issue with Ajet/THY customer service. We have not received any response from the companies yet. On the morning of April 12th, an email confirmed the flight cancellation. Throughout this process, no information was provided, and no options for ticket changes or cancellations were offered. Therefore, I am reserving my rights to claim further compensation and requesting a refund for the canceled ticket, reimbursement for the expensive ticket I had to purchase, compensation for the flight cancellation, and damages incurred.
