For our round-trip flight to Malta (October 27–30, 2025), my spouse and I purchased two adult tickets via Trip.com, paying a total of approximately $680 (20,140 TL), including extra baggage allowance. However, when our visa applications were denied, I canceled the tickets on October 21.
After the cancellation, I was informed that only $105 would be refunded and that I would receive 1,000 reward coins instead of any further compensation. The extra baggage fee I paid was not refunded either. When I contacted Trip.com customer service, they said they couldn’t assist me further and offered only 1,000 coins in exchange for not filing a complaint.
The refund policy and terms were unclear and confusing, and there was no explicit information regarding refunds in the case of visa denial.
I am requesting that Trip.com refund the full amount I paid, including the extra baggage fee, as the visa refusal was beyond my control. The company should act with fairness and transparency, especially in situations where travelers cannot proceed with their trips due to official visa rejections.
