I purchased an international flight ticket through the Mytrip platform for ₺10,000. Due to a visa denial, I had no choice but to cancel the ticket. The airline agreed to refund ₺4,000, which was fair. However, Mytrip deducted ₺2,684 as a “service fee”, leaving me with a much smaller refund.
What’s most frustrating is that they charged this fee despite not providing any meaningful service during the cancellation process. I’ve booked through many other third-party platforms in the past and have never encountered such a deduction—especially one this high—for simply canceling a ticket due to circumstances beyond my control.
It feels like I’m being charged for nothing, and there’s no transparency in how that “service fee” is calculated or justified. I demand that Mytrip refund the ₺2,684, as it was taken unfairly and without any value-added service in return.
This kind of practice not only causes financial loss, but also damages trust in booking platforms. I urge Mytrip to revise its refund policies and handle such situations with fairness and clarity.
