On 19 August, I booked a Renault Clio through Trip.com, provided by Budget at Podgorica Airport. The booking stated that all insurance and options were included in the price. However, when I arrived to pick up the car, I was forced to pay an additional €220 insurance fee by credit card, despite the booking terms.
This issue caused me nearly a week of stress and back-and-forth, and it was clear that Budget processed the charge from the deposit, showing that they are experienced in handling such disputes. Trip.com, however, misled me with unclear or deceptive terms, which left me financially disadvantaged. My Budget rental contract number is 7299443.
I emailed Trip.com customer service to resolve this matter, but I never received a response. This is the first time I have encountered such a problem, and I find it unacceptable.
I demand the full refund of the €220 extra insurance fee that I was wrongly charged. Customers should be protected from hidden charges and misleading booking conditions, and I expect Trip.com to take responsibility.
