SunExpress Charged €20 for Free Seat Selection – Misleading Booking Process
While booking my ticket with SunExpress, the system showed that standard seats under Suneco+ were free. I couldn’t proceed without selecting a seat, so I chose seat 2A, which was marked as free. However, I was later charged €20 for the selection.
When I raised a complaint, I was told, “Passengers with Suneco+ can only select free seats from row 11 onward.” This is nowhere mentioned during the booking process. I’ve shared screenshots showing that my selected seat was displayed as free, and there was no information about row restrictions. This feels like intentional deception to charge customers unfairly.
If free seats are only from row 11 onward, why does the system show earlier rows as free? Let me guess—another “system error,” which seems to happen frequently on SunExpress’s app and website.
I demand a full refund of the €20 and a review of this misleading practice. If not resolved, I will pursue my rights through all available means. This type of trickery is unacceptable for any airline.
