I made a hotel reservation through hotels.com, and since I already know the company and the hotel, I paid in advance. After making the reservation, I realized I had entered the check-in date for just one day later. Instead of April 12-13, I accidentally marked April 13-14. I immediately called the hotel, and they confirmed that they had availability for the day before, but mentioned that only hotels.com could make the change. The price was even cheaper for the day before.
I've been using the hotels.com app for years, and I've even filled up my 10-night stay for a complimentary accommodation. This was the first time I needed to contact them, and it was the first time I called. I spent 35 minutes, virtual communication robots kept me waiting for minutes, couldn't understand my explanation, repeatedly asked the same question, and after 35 minutes, told me to contact the hotel.
This level of disrespect is unacceptable; I couldn't even find someone to address my issue. The hotel says they have availability, but I couldn't find a human being to take my reservation for the day before. They left me with no option other than deleting the app and explaining that my money went up in smoke with every purchase. Not employing someone to solve such a simple and easily solvable problem and resorting to virtual communication is beyond comprehension.
