Booking.com Canceled My Hotel but It Still Shows Active and I Paid Twice

I requested a date change for the hotel reservation I made through Booking 1 day after the reservation, but they said that it was not refundable and I gave up postponing. My wife and I came to a hotel abroad, which is 270 km away from my home, and the hotel said that the reservation, which was still active on Booking, was canceled by Booking. The hotel staff said that they had not received the payment I made to Booking and that I had to make a new payment. I made the payment a second time and made a request to Booking, but I did not get back to them, the reservation, which was reported to the hotel as canceled, still appears active and approved on Booking.
