About three weeks ago, I made a hotel reservation through Booking.com for a stay abroad, with payment to be made at the hotel. On the evening of December 21, I received a message via the Booking.com app, appearing to be from the hotel, stating that I needed to make a payment within 24 hours to confirm the reservation. The message claimed the amount would be refunded later, or the reservation would be canceled.
I messaged both the hotel and Booking.com customer service but received no reply. Trusting the app, I made the payment. However, similar payment requests kept coming, which I ignored. Hours later, the hotel replied that they never sent such messages, there were no issues with the reservation, and Booking.com might have been hacked.
Despite reporting this to Booking.com and my bank, I haven’t received any resolution. This incident caused me financial loss, and I expect Booking.com to take responsibility and resolve this issue immediately. This level of negligence is unacceptable!
