On March 13, 2025, I had a Beko CMXD9100 washing machine installed, and from day one it’s been nothing but a regretful experience. Right after installation, a strange and unpleasant odor started spreading around my home. I assumed it was just the smell of a new appliance. But the next day, when I did my first wash, the smell became unbearable. Instead of fresh, soft laundry, I was met with a strong, sour scent that stuck to the clothes and filled the entire house.
I tried several washes, thinking it would pass. I followed Beko’s official recommendation of running a 90°C empty cycle—no improvement. I even used a dedicated machine cleaner. Still no change. On the 9th day, a service technician finally showed up, only to say, “I can’t smell anything, but once complaints are escalated, things like this happen.” He admitted that not all units of this model had the issue—so clearly, some do. Doesn’t that qualify as a defective batch?
Despite being under warranty, I was told the technician couldn’t take the machine back, and I had no idea where I’m expected to return it myself. Even if I did, no service center accepts it. Meanwhile, this toxic odor clings to our clothes, hangs in the air, and irritates our throats. I demand a full return or exchange immediately.
