Turkish Airlines Sold Our Seats to Someone Else
Two days before the check-in for our TK1866 Rome-Istanbul flight, I received a message stating that my 6-year-old son's ticket had been changed. The message was later deleted, so I didn't take it seriously, thinking it was a mistake. Today, when I opened the system to check in, I found that our seats 10a, 10b, 10c, and 10d had been changed. My 6-year-old was assigned a different seat, my 8-year-old another, and the two adults were also seated separately. How could they think it's appropriate for my children to travel next to strangers? I had to call the Turkish number from Rome to resolve why tickets purchased under the same number were assigned separate seats. The person on the phone said I could get my children seated next to me for an extra fee or try to arrange it with other passengers tomorrow. I've never encountered such nonsense in my life. Insisting on fixing this, they eventually transferred me to someone else, and I managed to get my seat changed from 10 to 19. The main issue here is that their mistake caused significant inconvenience for me and my family. If I hadn't insisted, I would have been in a very difficult situation tomorrow. I still can't understand how they can sell seats assigned to me to someone else before check-in starts.
