Turkish Airlines Ruined My Flight TK34 With Hidden Fees and No Service

This was my second time traveling to Turkey with my husband, and we chose Turkish Airlines because it markets itself as a world-class, five-star airline. Sadly, our experience was nothing close to that. At check-in, we were told our tickets had no baggage allowance, even though when booking through the Turkish Airlines app it clearly showed 1 checked bag + 1 carry-on. We were forced to pay over $300 in baggage fees. To make matters worse, not a single employee at the counter — not even the supervisor — spoke Turkish, which was shocking for a Turkish airline. The staff were rude and dismissive, adding to the stress. The 12+ hour flight itself was a nightmare. Two toddlers behind me screamed and kicked my seat the entire time, and the crew did nothing to help because the flight was “full” although people were completely laid across three seats. The cabin was unbearably hot until we were in the air, with no proper AC, and the smell of body odor filled the plane. On top of that, there was no in-flight entertainment at all — something Turkish Airlines is supposedly famous for.. I wouldn't know. I felt like I was trapped in terrible conditions - legit hell - for over 12 hours, with no comfort, no relief, and no support from the crew. This was supposed to be a premium airline experience, but it turned out to be one of the worst flights I’ve ever had. For an airline that prides itself on being “world-class,” Turkish Airlines completely failed on every level. Review of Turkish Airlines – Flight TK34 (Houston to Istanbul).
