Turkish Airlines Rescheduled My Flight and I Experienced Inconvenience Due to It
I purchased a ticket from Turkish Airlines for a flight from Izmir to Trabzon with a layover in Istanbul. The flight was scheduled for 25/11/2023 with flight numbers TK2343 and TK2830, boarding time at 23:00. While attempting to check in online, I discovered that the flight time had changed and I would miss my connecting flight. They advised me to cancel the ticket or choose a new date. I opted for the earliest available flight on the same day, which was from Izmir to Trabzon with a layover in Ankara. The new flight numbers were TK7017 for Ankara and TK7062 for Trabzon, with a boarding time of 21:40 from Izmir and 23:55 from Ankara. There was an adequate one-hour layover in Ankara. Upon arriving at Izmir airport, I found out that the flight was delayed by 15 minutes. As the departure time approached, the delay extended to 45 minutes. We landed in Ankara around 23:40 and rushed to the gate for the connecting flight. Although the plane had not yet departed, our connecting tickets had been changed before we even left Izmir. They issued us tickets for the next day at 8 PM, so we couldn't board the plane. When I approached the support desk, I was informed that there were no suitable tickets available at the desired time. I had to cancel my ticket and continue my journey by bus. I requested a refund for my ticket, and they informed me that the refund amount would be half of what I paid. However, I am demanding a full refund of the amount I paid for the ticket. Otherwise, I am being unfairly treated. I chose to fly to arrive quickly. I flew to Ankara, but due to the issues, I had to travel to Trabzon by bus instead of arriving at 01:05 by plane. I am writing this complaint from the bus. I demand a full refund of my ticket price.
