My flight from Schiphol to Istanbul on December 21, 2023, was canceled, and I am not receiving a refund.
I had a flight planned on 21-12-2023 (TK 1962) at 14:00 from Schiphol to Istanbul. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, the flight was delayed and took off at 16:36.
I arrived at Schiphol at 14:00 and immediately went to check-in counter 17. Unfortunately, the staff at counter 17 informed me that I was in the wrong queue (Sabiha Gökçen).
Around 15:00, it was my turn, and I was told that I was 10 minutes late and could not board the flight.
I immediately approached a Turkish Airlines employee for assistance. They informed me that I needed to check in three hours before the flight and that nothing could be done at that moment. The only offer I received was to buy a new ticket for the next day, which would cost €1500 per person for a one-way ticket.
I find this situation unreasonable as I arrived at the airport on time, and the delay was beyond my control. I am requesting a suitable resolution for this inconvenience, either a refund or a reasonable arrangement.
I have filed multiple complaints through the Turkish Airlines feedback form, but I have not received any positive response.
