Issue with Turkish Airlines Pet Policy for Istanbul-Adana Flight
On 09.04.2024, I purchased a plane ticket for the Istanbul-Adana route, ticket number: 2352218271047. I reviewed the pet transportation rules and information about the carrying case. To avoid any issues, I bought a new soft carrier. The website stated that applications for pets could be made up to 24 hours before the flight. To ensure there were no problems, I called customer service two weeks before the flight to ask about my cat's weight and the carrier dimensions. I was told everything was suitable, but there was no approval for the cat on the flight, and I needed to speak with the ticket sales unit. I then went to the ticket sales office at Istanbul Airport, where I was again told there was no availability for my cat. When I asked for the reason, I was informed that the staff did not have access to this information and that I needed to apply to the G21 Pet acceptance section. When I went there, I was again told there was no availability for my cat. Now, based on the staff who cannot explain the reason, I am asking again why my cat is not accepted. My cat weighs 3.8 kilograms, is suitable for transportation, has all vaccinations, and is microchipped. I was given an unreasonable suggestion to bring my cat on the flight day, and it might be accepted. I was told the ticket could be canceled but with a fee deduction. It feels like I am being treated as if I committed a crime. With 9 days left until my flight, I still hope a solution can be found.
"Supposedly, not a single soul has called yet, even though it's the 4th pet-friendly company in the world. There is no solution."
