Turkish Airlines Overbooking Compensation Not Received
Despite our efforts to complete online check-in for our flight on July 15, 2023, we decided to check-in at the airport because only paid check-in was available within the last 24 hours. Due to overbooking, where tickets were sold beyond the 150-seat capacity, we were told we had to wait for a flight 12 hours later. We spent approximately 5 hours waiting for cancellations, new flight tickets, and the promised compensation of €100. Although we received receipts stating the compensation was transferred to our card via POS device, it has been 11 days and the compensation has still not reached our account.
When we contacted the bank, they informed us that no funds had been received from Turkish Airlines and that the transaction was pending. When we contacted Turkish Airlines, they told us to send an email as they could not assist over the phone. Are you mocking us? Not only have you caused us inconvenience, but you are also incapable of providing the compensation we are entitled to. We purchase high-priced tickets to fly comfortably and avoid issues. This is the treatment we receive. I will file a complaint with the Consumer Rights Court, and I will never use this airline again.
