Turkish Airlines Compensation Issue for Overbooked Flight
On August 7, 2023, at 16:20, I was not allowed to board the Istanbul-Antalya THY flight despite meeting all conditions and completing my procedures well in advance, due to overbooking. Although there was a 17:30 flight, I had to wait at the airport until the 23:00 flight. They promised a compensation of €100 and asked for an Is Bankasi IBAN to make the payment, or I could collect it in cash from Antalya airport. However, they claimed there was no cash available in Antalya and did not make the payment. I returned a few days later, but again, they said there was no money and sent me back. We have made numerous requests through customer service; they promised to respond in 2 days but did not. We made another request, and they promised to respond in 7 days but still did not. We have made yet another request and are currently waiting. Not only did they cause us significant inconvenience, but they are also handling the compensation poorly. I will never choose THY again; selling the same seat to multiple passengers is unfair.
