Turkish Airlines Lost My Luggage and I Was Unable to Reach a Representative
During our THY flight from Tel Aviv to Istanbul on July 16 at 22:00, our luggage was lost. We filed a Lost Baggage Report at Istanbul Airport. The staff there mentioned that they frequently encountered such issues and assured us that our luggage would be delivered to us via one of the two additional Tel Aviv-Istanbul flights that night. Unfortunately, not only was our luggage not delivered, but THY customer service representatives also informed us that its whereabouts could not be determined. After five days of no progress, we repeated our application through the THY website, providing detailed information about the luggage's contents, brand, and color. Each time we contacted them, we were told that emails had been sent to the authorities in Tel Aviv but no response had been received. Despite the lack of replies to the emails sent by the THY Lost Baggage Unit at Istanbul Airport, there seemed to be no additional efforts to obtain information or make phone calls to the authorities there. Despite our repeated requests for phone communication with the Tel Aviv Airport authorities, we received no positive responses, and THY has yet to make any contact in this regard. In all our conversations with Customer Service, they claimed to have no authority and only forwarded our requests to the relevant units. When we asked to contact the responsible unit directly or speak by phone, we were told that this was not possible and that we would receive a response via email. However, the only email response we received stated that the search for our luggage was ongoing. Despite 15 days passing, there has been no progress, no THY representative has called to inform us, and we cannot reach any authorized person when we call. THY, our only point of contact in this ordeal, has unfortunately been unable to assist us in any way so far.
